Vehicles
Every vehicle in Mythwild
Mythwild has 32 kinds of vehicle, from a pedal bicycle to a hover tank, and each one has its own body, handling and engine sound. Most of them are parked somewhere in the world, and you can drive any of those by walking up and pressing E. This page lists all 32: how fast each one goes, where to find it, and how to make it yours so you can call it to you from anywhere.

Driving one and owning one
Anything parked in the world can be driven by whoever reaches it first, with a few exceptions that ask you to prove yourself before the door opens. The F1 needs three laps of the circuit behind you, the Hypercar needs five race wins, and the Top Fuel Dragster needs ten wins on the drag strip. A car left empty with nobody near it drives itself home after four minutes, so the next player finds it where it belongs.
Owning a vehicle is different from driving one. A vehicle you own appears in your garage (N), and from there you can summon it to wherever you are standing, wearing every part you have fitted to it. You have one personal vehicle at a time, summoning again swaps it, and there is a two-minute wait between summons. Three vehicles become yours the moment you first ride them: the Car, the Hoverboard and the Wave-Jet. Four can never be summoned and are driven where you find them: the Bighorn 4x4, the Quarry Hauler, the School Bus and the Backhoe Loader.
Two currencies
Credits pay for parts and paint at the two tuning shops. You earn them for nearly everything: 40 for a treasure, 80 for an achievement, 60 for a race win or a drag win, and 120 for beating your own best lap or glide. Shards buy vehicles. They come mostly from the Arena, where a wave pays 8 shards on top of a base of 10 and a player-versus-player match pays 60 for a win. No vehicle is sold for credits.
The shard shop, and the free way to each car
Fourteen vehicles are sold in the shard shop (K). Every one of them also comes free with a challenge, so a player who never enters the Arena can still own them all by racing.
| Vehicle | Shards | Or free for |
|---|---|---|
| Battle Buggy | 700 | reaching Arena wave 25 |
| Hover Tank | 1,200 | reaching Arena wave 40 |
| Survival SUV | 2,500 | reaching Arena wave 12 |
| Rally Car | 2,500 | winning 5 circuit races |
| Baja Trophy Truck | 2,500 | winning 5 drag races |
| Monster Truck | 2,500 | driving 40 laps of the circuit |
| Sports Car | 6,000 | winning 12 circuit races |
| GT3 | 6,000 | driving 80 laps |
| Mega Truck | 6,000 | reaching Arena wave 22 |
| Supercar | 12,000 | winning 25 circuit races |
| Classic F1 | 12,000 | driving 150 laps |
| Exotic | 12,000 | reaching Arena wave 32 |
| F1 | 25,000 | reaching Arena wave 45 |
| Hypercar | 25,000 | winning 50 circuit races |
The rest are won from the people who make them. Bruce gives away his own drift car, Kaléa builds her park machines for riders who clear her challenges, and Tao-Shan's yard has prizes of its own. Speeds below are the game's own figures, converted to kilometres and miles per hour, and they are stock: the tuning shops change them on a car you own.
Road cars
Car
The Strada Hatch, a plain city hatchback. Nine are parked around the world: three near where you start, three outside the trackside garage, one in the north, one in Bruce's car park and one in the south bowl. Sit in one and it is yours to summon. It takes every part at the Mod Shop except the Active Wing, which needs a nitro.
Sports Car
The Renn RS, a high-revving flat-six that wins in the bends rather than on the straights. Its grip is the second highest in the game, after the F1, and it throws sparks from underneath in hard corners. One is parked at the trackside garage, one deep in the forest by the golden tree, and one in Bruce's house garage. Own it for 6,000 shards or 12 race wins.
Supercar
The Apex GT, a mid-engined supercar. Find it at the trackside garage, far out against the southern mountains, or in Bruce's house garage. Own it for 12,000 shards or 25 race wins.
Exotic
The Tempesta R, a V12 track car with a pink flame when the nitro fires. It waits at the trackside garage, at the Mayan temple behind Stonehenge, and in Bruce's house garage. Own it for 12,000 shards or by reaching wave 32 in the Arena.
Hypercar
The Aether Volt, the fastest road car you can buy. It is parked at the trackside garage, off the racing line, but it stays out of sight until you have won five circuit races, and the whole world hears when you unlock it. Owning it to summon costs 25,000 shards or 50 race wins.
Drift Machine
The Kaze S15, Bruce's own burnt-orange drift car, kept in the first bay of the garage at his house. It has the lowest grip of any road car so a slide keeps going, a handbrake on Space, and a counter-steer assist that holds the angle. Bruce will not let you in until you have taken one car to a full build at his shop; then he hands it over already built, gold wheels and all.
Track Monster
The Track Monster is one of the game's hidden prizes. It is on no menu, the garage gives no hint that it exists, and nobody in the game will tell you how to win it. This page leaves it for you to find.
Race cars
F1
The Cavallino GP, with a screaming V10 and a blue nitro flame. It has the most grip and the strongest brakes of anything in the game, and its downforce keeps it planted over crests. It is hidden in the road tunnel and opens once you have driven three laps of the circuit. Owning it costs 25,000 shards or wave 45 in the Arena. Its front and rear flaps move with your speed and steering.
Classic F1
The Silver Arrow, an older grand prix car with the same downforce and a higher-revving scream. It sits just inside the mouth of the cave. Own it for 12,000 shards or 150 laps of the circuit.
GT3
The Sabre GT3 Evo, the all-rounder: strong grip, downforce and no bad habits. It is parked in the woods on the rise north of Stonehenge. Own it for 6,000 shards or 80 laps.
Rally Car
The Gravel Storm RS climbs rougher ground than any tarmac car and bangs on every gear change. It is hidden in the hills in the south of the map. Own it for 2,500 shards or five race wins.
Top Fuel Dragster
The Nitro Fury TF, the loudest thing in the game and by far the fastest under nitro, with the hardest launch of all 32. It turns like a train, which is fine, because it lives at the drag strip. It appears there once you have won ten drag races, and the same ten wins let you summon it anywhere.
Off-road trucks and 4x4s
Nine vehicles can climb the steep ground that stops a road car, and most of them are here. Even they need the Wanderer's climbing gear for the very top of the Alps.
Bighorn 4x4
A lifted off-road SUV on tall tyres, parked behind the garage at Bruce's house. It is not locked, just waiting to be found. It cannot be summoned, so you drive it where it stands.
Survival SUV
The Last Resort, an olive 4x4 that carries its own fuel, water and tools. It waits at the Survivor's Camp in the trees south of the Hollow, among the Hollow's creatures, and it fights back: a flame torch on the front burns creatures within 15 metres but never players. Own it for 2,500 shards or wave 12 in the Arena.
Baja Trophy Truck
The Dust Devil, the fastest off-roader, tuned to float over rough ground rather than grip it. It is parked near the forest edge. Own it for 2,500 shards or five drag wins.
Monster Truck
Bigfoot, on tyres 3.6 metres tall, with a blown V8 and loud backfires. It climbs almost anything and catches big air off ramps. It is hidden deep in the forest, and anyone who finds it can drive it. Own it for 2,500 shards or 40 laps.
Mega Truck
The Titan XXL, a long-travel crawler on 3.4-metre tyres with the biggest grunt of the trucks. It is hidden out beyond the northern circuit. Own it for 6,000 shards or wave 22 in the Arena.
Battle Buggy
The Warhog RX, an all-terrain rammer built for the Arena. It hits animals much harder than an ordinary car. It waits on the forecourt of the trackside garage, out of sight until you own it, and it is the cheapest thing in the shard shop at 700, or free at Arena wave 25.
Avalanche
Tao-Shan's own orange truck on four-metre tyres. He drives it round his dirt course at the foot of the Alps, and you are welcome to watch, but nobody else gets in. How a player comes to own one is a secret the game keeps.
Landslide
The Landslide stands on the biggest tyres in the game, 4.9 metres tall. It turns worse and grips less than anything else, and there is very little it cannot drive up. It belongs to Tao-Shan's yard, and he would rather tell you about it himself.
Heavy machines
Quarry Hauler
A 100-tonne off-highway dump truck, the largest vehicle in the game and the slowest to pick up speed, with a bed that tips. It is hidden somewhere in the world, and finding it is the point, so this page does not say where. It cannot be summoned.
School Bus
The Yellow Line, long, tall and top-heavy, with a turbo diesel that takes its time. It is parked about 60 metres from where new players start, so it is often the first odd vehicle anyone notices. It seats one: you, driving. It cannot be summoned.
Backhoe Loader
The slowest thing with an engine, and the only vehicle with room for a friend: while one player drives, another can press E by the front bucket and ride in it. The mouse wheel moves the arm, and a right or middle click switches between the front loader and the rear backhoe. It works on Bruce's estate, about 130 metres from the house.
Hover Tank
The Aegis HT floats 0.7 metres above ground and water alike, and its turret fires a rocket with F or a left click: 54 metres of range, 120 damage, a shot every 0.7 seconds. It hurts creatures and bosses, while a player caught near the blast is only knocked aside, and it rams harder than anything else in the game. It waits on the trackside forecourt once you own it, for 1,200 shards or wave 40 in the Arena.
Bikes, skates and boards
Four of these are built and given away by Kaléa at her park in the north, near the circuit, one for each set of her challenges. The skates, scooter and skateboard have no engine: you push them up to speed, and Shift pushes harder. Tricks happen by themselves when you leave a ramp, picked to fit your hang time, and a double tap of Space hops.
Bicycle
The Freewheel, the only machine you pedal, with the tick of its freewheel as you coast. It is always yours and can always be summoned. You will find them at the foot of the drivable mountain near the start, in the north and at Kaléa's park. Bruce will not touch it: nothing he sells fits a bicycle.
Mountain Bike
The Summit, leaning against the cairn at the very top of the Alps. It is the one vehicle in the world you cannot drive to: you need the Wanderer's climbing gear to get up there. Stand on the summit and it is yours, and it climbs well enough to get you back down.
Kaléa's Stunt Bike
A dirt-jump bike that hops higher and spins faster than anything else, with five tricks only it can pull, up to a triple backflip. It is parked beside Kaléa, out of sight until it is yours. Clear all six of her first challenges and she hands you one in its own colour, never her pink.
Roller Skates
Aggressive inline skates that you stride along on, one foot after the other. The toe stops are your only brakes. Kaléa builds them for riders who clear her second set of six challenges.
Stunt Scooter
The tightest-turning vehicle in the game and the most forgiving thing in the park. A loaner stands on the rack beside Kaléa for anyone to ride; clear her third set of challenges to own one and summon it anywhere.
Skateboard
The loosest of the park machines, and the hard one. Each push is slower and bigger than on the skates or the scooter. A loaner waits beside Kaléa; her fourth and last set of challenges makes it yours.
Hoverboard
The Skyblade, an anti-gravity board that floats over water and climbs while you hold Space, up to 150 metres. Fly over the floating cloud and it sets you down on the Sky Island. It is parked on the summit of Mount Drive, the drivable mountain near the start, and the Yeti guards it. Ride it once and it is yours, and from then on the Yeti leaves you alone while you are on it.
On the water
Wave-Jet
The Tidal Ripper, a jet ski with a two-stroke buzz. It rides the surface of the Big Lake and keeps going when it reaches the shore. Ride it once and it is yours. Stay on it: the lake has a shark, and the shark bites swimmers. Only the Wave-Jet, the Hoverboard and the Hover Tank stay on top of the water; everything else drives along the lake bed.
Records
Stock figures, before any tuning.
| Record | Holder |
|---|---|
| Fastest with nitro | Top Fuel Dragster, 468 km/h (291 mph) |
| Hardest launch | Top Fuel Dragster |
| Most grip and strongest brakes | F1 |
| Tightest turning | Stunt Scooter, then the Roller Skates |
| Biggest tyres | Landslide, 4.9 m |
| Largest vehicle | Quarry Hauler |
| Slowest with an engine | Backhoe Loader, 58 km/h |
Bruce's Mod Shop
Bruce's shop is in the infield of the race circuit, where the suspension bridge comes down. Summon your own car with N and drive it onto the ramp, and the shop opens by itself. It will not work on a world car: Bruce only touches cars that are yours. Seven performance parts come in three tiers, each tier costing double the one before.
| Part | Credits, tier 1 / 2 / 3 | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Engine | 220 / 440 / 880 | More acceleration everywhere |
| Gearbox | 180 / 360 / 720 | Higher top speed |
| Tyres | 200 / 400 / 800 | Far more grip, slightly lower top end |
| Brakes | 140 / 280 / 560 | Later, harder braking |
| Suspension | 160 / 320 / 640 | Sharper turn-in |
| Aero | 190 / 380 / 760 | Downforce: grip in corners, slower on straights |
| Weight | 240 / 480 / 960 | Strips the car out, better at everything |
Every part at tier three on one car is a full build, 9,310 credits, and it is what Bruce wants to see before he hands over his Drift Machine. The looks shelf charges each time you apply something: paint in twelve colours for 150, six wheel designs for 250, spoilers for 400 (up to an Active Wing that rises with speed and stands up under braking), liveries such as twin stripes, flames and carbon for 200, and underglow in seven colours for 300. The trucks, the Hover Tank, the Mountain Bike and the Wave-Jet take performance parts but not styling, and the bicycle, the Hoverboard and Kaléa's machines take nothing at all.
A third tab, Special Vehicle Operations, upgrades the three vehicles that have something extra: the Survival SUV's flame torch, the Hover Tank's main gun, and the Drift Machine's drift package.
Tao-Shan's Off-Road
Tao-Shan's yard sits at the northern foot of the Alps, about half a kilometre from Bruce's. He works on trucks, and on things that think they are trucks: the Monster Truck, Mega Truck, Baja, Survival SUV, Battle Buggy, Hover Tank, Mountain Bike, Avalanche and Landslide. Drive one you own onto the pad under his gantry. His four performance parts are off-road tyres, long-travel suspension, diff lockers, and armour with skid plates, and a full board costs 6,440 credits. His kit shelf is for looks: a light bar that really lights the ground, a snorkel, a winch and a roof rack.
In front of his shed is a dirt course with three ramps, called the Table, the Step and the Wall. Jumps score for height and distance, and there are boards for the biggest air, the best jump and the best lap. He sets nine challenges on it, from getting off the ground at all to a lap in under 25 seconds, and finishing them all is worth it.
The circuit and the drag strip
The race circuit is a loop of about two kilometres with a long main straight and a tight hairpin. It has 17 checkpoints and five boost pads, which give any vehicle a short burst, even one without a nitro. Press R at the start line to open a two-lap race, and every player nearby gets twelve seconds to join. Race cars grip harder on the circuit's tarmac than off it. Wins count towards the Rally Car, Sports Car, Supercar and Hypercar, and laps towards the Monster Truck, GT3 and Classic F1.
The drag strip runs 300 metres near the circuit in the north, two lanes with walls between them. Press R in the staging box to stage. If you arrive on foot you are handed a Sports Car, or the dragster once you have ten wins. Another player can pull into the other lane and press R to take you on; if nobody does within six seconds, a computer dragster does. A win pays 60 credits, and only a win over a person goes on the leaderboard. ⇧R is a different thing: it challenges the player in front of you to a race on foot down the same strip.
How driving works
Nitro. Shift fires it, and every car has its own flame colour: blue on the F1, green on the Monster Truck, pink on the Exotic. Ten vehicles have no nitro, and on Kaléa's machines and the bicycle Shift is a sprint instead.
Downforce. The F1, the Classic F1, the Sports Car and the GT3 are pressed onto the road, so they stay down over a crest where other cars take off. The F1's front and rear flaps lie flat at speed and stand up when it turns or slows.
Drifting. Any car leaves skid marks and smoke when it slides, but only the Drift Machine has a handbrake (Space, or the 🌀 button on a phone) to break traction on purpose, and it spits flames from the exhaust when it is crossed up.
Animals. A vehicle moving faster than about 30 km/h hurts any animal it hits, more the faster it goes. The Monster Truck and Mega Truck hit twice as hard as a car, the Battle Buggy two and a half times, and the Hover Tank three and a half. An animal that charges a car bounces off it, and the car keeps you safe. You cannot run over another player: vehicles collide with each other, and the heavier one shoves the lighter one further. Read more about the creatures on the animals page.
Sound. Mythwild has no recorded engine sounds. Each engine is synthesized as you drive, from how that kind of engine fires: the F1's V10 wail, the Rally Car's anti-lag bangs on each shift, the dragster's blower whine, the Wave-Jet's two-stroke buzz, the Hover Tank's heavy hum, and silence and wind on a bicycle.
Beyond the 32. Horses, the unicorn and, for anyone who beats one, a dragon can be ridden too, and ⇧E calls your mount to you. There are wings, gliding and a parachute for getting down from high places. The guide has every control, and the world page shows where all these places are.
