Why a browser game

Because a link is the shortest way into a world. Mythwild starts from a web address on a computer, a tablet or a phone, with nothing to install and no account to make. Friends can join your world from an invite link, and a whole race or boss fight can come together in the time it takes to send one.

The same game runs everywhere. Phones get their own controls: a floating stick, a button that always says what it will do, pedals when you drive, and a layout that can be mirrored for left-handed players. On a computer it plays with a keyboard and mouse or a standard game controller.

How it is made

The world is low-poly and built in code: its roads, trees, buildings, people, animals and vehicles are modelled and animated by the game itself rather than loaded from large asset files. That keeps it light enough for a phone.

Every sound is made the same way. There are no audio files at all. Engines are synthesized from how real engines fire and change gear, and the wind, water, weather and animals are generated live. No two cars sound the same, because no two cars are built the same.

The world is shared. A server runs each world thirty times a second for up to 24 players, so the car you overtake, the dragon you fight and the player who beats your lap time are all really there.

The game is updated often, usually several times a week, with new places, characters, vehicles and fixes.

Free to play

The whole world is free. Everything in it can be earned by playing, with credits paid out for challenges, races, treasure and bosses. Where the game offers an advert, it is optional and pays a credit bonus for watching it. Adverts are not meant to interrupt play: they appear when you ask for one.

Your data

Mythwild keeps what the game needs to work: your character, your progress and, if you make one, your account. The privacy policy sets out exactly what is recorded, why, who else handles it and for how long. You can delete your account from inside the game or from the account deletion page.
